May 8, 2012 – Soon, thousands will graduate from colleges across the country. In Long Beach, some 4,000 seniors and graduate students will likely enter the job market. Unfortunately, the economy is still not welcoming and generous. While there’s been some improvement, the competition for jobs remains fierce.

What’s this mean for graduates? There remain fewer opportunities for them to begin their professional careers, earn their millions and start building nest eggs. Many will feel pressured to stretch the truth about skills and experience just to land a job. On the hiring side, leaders who accept what they hear without deeper probing will end up hiring the wrong people.
