November 6, 2012 – St. Mary Medical Center celebrated physical therapy month in October after earning a score of 100 percent on the rehabilitation department’s AVATAR patient satisfaction survey. The survey allows patients to rate the quality of care they receive from their assigned healthcare professional based on politeness, time spent on care, clarity of diagnosis/prognosis explanation and competence. The rehabilitation department at St. Mary Medical Center treats acute, inpatient rehab and outpatient individuals; leads the hospital’s senior exercise class, balance exercise class and fall prevention class; and educates those involved in the hospital’s outpatient diabetes class with the Stroke Association. “I would like to thank the physical therapists for the compassionate care that they deliver to our patients and their families,” Mary Margaret Montgomery, rehabilitation department manager, said in a statement.
