Harbor Breeze Donates

November 6, 2012 – Harbor Breeze Cruises, docked at Rainbow Harbor downtown, has become the first business to donate to the Ronald McDonald House’s Heart of the House program. Harbor Breeze donated $10,000 to the funding program, which will support the needs of the house. The Long Beach Ronald McDonald House opened in December 2011 and serves as a “home away from home” for the families of children being treated at Miller Children’s Hospital of Long Beach, Harbor/UCLA Medical Center, St. Mary Medical Center and other pediatric medical facilities in the region. The house has 23 guest rooms and a central pavilion with a living room, open-air courtyard, dining room, kitchen, laundry facilities, a computer room and more. Long Beach Ronald McDonald House is open 24 hours a day. Though families are asked to pay $25-$35 per night, the average cost to sustain the house is $125 per family per night. The house relies on philanthropic gifts such as the donation from Harbor Breeze to continue its service to the community.
