November 20, 2012 – Amy Loe, left, and Teri Appleton Villanueva opened Chef Tech Cooking School October 5 at 3842 Atlantic Ave. in Bixby Knolls. They have been friends since their days working together at University Restaurant Group’s Ocean Avenue Seafood Restaurant in Santa Monica. Loe was a sous chef and Teri was a pastry chef. “Our mission is to teach people how to cook – to show them how to select quality ingredients, use the proper equipment and master the best techniques,” according to Chef Tech’s website, www.cheftechcookingschool.com. “Our mission is to help people create wonderful food in order to advance in their career, or simply share with their friends and family.” Chef Tech offers workshops, a beginners series, a pro chef series, a pro baking series and classes for kids at its six dedicated cooking stations.
