December 4, 2012 – Rod Wilson, president of the East Anaheim Street Business Alliance, shows off new security cameras posted at the intersection of East Anaheim and Redondo Avenue. Cameras also have been placed at the intersection of East Anaheim and Temple Avenue. “The new surveillance cameras are the first of many initiatives that will make East Anaheim Street safer for all who live and work here,” Wilson said. The camera installments are funded entirely by the EASBA. The Long Beach Police Department has access to the cameras, which have already proven effective, capturing a recent hit-and-run incident at one of the intersections. “So far, so good,” Wilson said. More cameras are likely to be installed along East Anaheim Street in early 2013, with the intersection of Ximeno Avenue a likely possibility. (Photograph by the Business Journal’s Thomas McConville)
