December 4, 2012 – In November, The Salvation Army Long Beach Corps Major Rudy Hedgren and Captain Moy Hernandez installed Dr. Venus Ramos as a member of The Salvation Army’s Long Beach Advisory Board. Ramos, a licensed physician in physical medicine and rehabilitation, is an assistant clinical professor at the University of Irvine College of Medicine. In addition to her work advising patients on the benefits of physical fitness, Ramos regularly trains and competes in fitness competitions. She was Ms. Fitness LA Champion 2005, Ms. Fitness USA 2006 and finished in the top six for Ms. America Fitness in 2007. She has made regular appearances in the Fitness America ESPN Series and competed in Ms. Fitness World. Last year, Ramos was chairperson of the Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach and Christmas events for The Salvation Army Long Beach Corps, and promoted the Army’s 2011 Christmas Kettle Effort and Operation Christmas campaign.
