Parkers Lighthouse Greetings with Santa

December 18, 2012 – On December 5, more than 400 patients of Miller Children’s Hospital Long Beach and their parents greeted Santa Claus as he arrived via yacht to Parkers’ Lighthouse in Shoreline Village for the annual benefit breakfast with Saint Nick. Parkers’ donated 100 percent of the proceeds from the event to benefit pediatric cancer and serious blood disorders at Miller Children’s Hospital Long Beach. The restaurant has sponsored the “Breakfast with Santa” event for more than 20 years. “This is our way of spreading holiday cheer to the Long Beach community and giving back to the kids at the hospital for the holidays,” Michael Cole, general manager of Parkers’ Lighthouse, said in a statement. “This was one of our largest crowds in recent years.” Pictured standing with the children, from left: Randy Gordon, president and CEO of the Long Beach Area Chamber of Commerce; Millie the Dolphin, mascot of the Aquarium of the Pacific; Santa Claus; Long Beach Mayor Bob Foster; Brett Beck, Miller Children’s Hospital Long Beach Foundation; and Cole.
