January 29, 2013 – The Arts Council of Long Beach has announced the appointment of John Glaza (pictured) as executive director, Kylee Yocky (pictured) as director of arts learning, Molly Gardner as grants and special projects manager, Gary Dewitt Marshall as gallery manager and Susan Frisk as office coordinator. The Arts Council also recently appointed seven local residents to its board of directors. These new members were selected from a pool of 18 candidates who submitted applications following an open call for boardmembers. The new members are Victoria Bryan, an artist, curator, educator and lifelong advocate for the arts; Maria Campelo, director for Integrated Technology Programs at Raytheon Company; Weston LaBar, an entrepreneur and founder of Political Advocacy Consulting in Long Beach; Gonzalo Medina, a captain with the Long Beach Fire Department’s Marine Safety Division; Gigi Fusco Meese, executive director of the Anaheim Performing Arts Center; Ken Roth, a career media professional and professor of digital media arts at California State University, Dominguez Hills; and Ray VanNatta, an art collector and current Bluff Park Neighborhood Association boardmember.
