February 12, 2013 – Ports America, the nation’s largest terminal operator, recently donated $25,000 to the international trade education programs (ITEP) at Banning High School in Wilmington. The company has supported ITEP’s programs and business-related academies since 2004, increasing its involvement with ITEP over the past three years through job interview workshops, job shadowing, terminal tours and industry coaching sessions. “Ports America is honored to give back to the community in a meaningful way through the ITEP program at Banning High School,” Walter Romanowski, president of Ports America’s West Coast Container Operations, said during a check presentation ceremony at the school. “It is inspiring for us to see young, motivated and highly intelligent high school students showing such a commitment to improving themselves, their families and their communities. We will continue to support ITEP in any way we can and help in spreading the word to our industry and peer groups about the great success of this program.” For more information about Ports America, visit http://www.portsamerica.com.
