March 12, 2013 – On March 16, Cats & Dogs Animal Hospital owner Greg Perrault hosts the Long Beach Reads One Book panel discussion event “The Human-Animal Bond: Everybody Wins” at his business, located at 627 Redondo Ave. Panelists are Mona Rosenberg, a doctor of veterinary medicine (DVM) and CEO/chief of staff at Veterinary Cancer Group in California; and Wayne A. Jensen, a DVM with a Ph.D. and a masters of business administration with the Wellington Animal Clinic in Colorado. Rosenberg was recently appointed clinical associate professor of veterinary medicine at Western University of Health Sciences. Jensen is also the chief science officer of the Morris Animal Foundation, the largest research firm focused on veterinary medicine. “The purpose of the evening is to hear from veterinarians who are leaders in their field and to share our own experiences of being pet owners,” Perrault said in a statement. “This will be informative, entertaining and you may learn something about how you connect with your pet.” The event coincides with this year’s Long Beach Reads One Book selection, “The Art of Racing in the Rain,” by Garth Stein, a novel about the old soul of a dog. Perrault will honor Justin Rudd at the event, for his commitment to the human-animal bond. The event is free, but reservations are recommended. No pets. E-mail
