May 7, 2013 – It was May 2, 2008, when Lola’s Mexican Cuisine opened for business at 2030 E. 4th St. along Retro Row. Five years later the business celebrates its success by launching new menu items, including a cast iron grilled rib eye steak served with garlic cilantro butter, and a mole recipe made with hazelnuts, pumpkin seeds and vanilla beans. “We have had so many great moments as a restaurant and as a Long Beach institution these last few years it’s been amazing,” Lola’s owner Luis Navarro said in a statement. “It seems like it was just yesterday that we were opening our doors to the community.” Lola’s was recognized as the winner of the 2013 Restaurant Writers Association’s 3 Star Award for outstanding quality and service. Lola’s is open from 11:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. every day. For more information, call 562/343-5506 or visit www.lolasmexicancuisine.com.
