Small Business Development Center Long Beach

June 18, 2013 – The Los Angeles Regional Small Business Development Center Network headquartered at Long Beach City College (LBCC) received the “Excellence and Innovation Award” earlier this month during a Small Business Awards Luncheon hosted by the Los Angeles District Office of the U.S. Small Business Administration and the Los Angeles Chamber of Commerce. The award recognizes the success of the network, which provides free one-on-one business advising and low-cost training seminars to help ensure the viability of small businesses. The regional network serves Los Angeles, Santa Barbara and Ventura counties and is part of the largest economic development program of the SBA. In accepting the award, Lou Anne Bynum, executive vice president of College Advancement and Economic Development at LBCC, said, “Our dedication to serving the economic development needs of the region is evident in the education and technical assistance the SBDC provides to small businesses, strengthening our local communities and the economy one business at a time.” Pictured at the awards ceremony are, left, Gary Toebben, president/CEO of the L.A.
