Mayor Bob Foster Receives Environmental Leadership Award

December 20 – The California League of Conservation Voters (CLCV), a nonpartisan political action arm of the state’s environmental movement, honored Long Beach Mayor Bob Foster at its 18th annual Environmental Leadership Awards event in West Hollywood on December 1. Recognized along with The Better World Group founder and President Wendy James, California Attorney General Kamala Harris and actress and activist Daphne Zuniga, Mayor Foster received the award for an environmentally progressive career that has included leading Southern California Edison in implementing the largest renewable energy portfolio in the nation, in addition to spearheading the clean-up of the Port of Long Beach. “CLCV is an outstanding organization that gives dignity to the human condition; it protects this planet and tries to make it better for our children and future generations,” Mayor Foster said during his acceptance of the accolade. “Their work is of great importance and I can’t think of an award I would be prouder to receive.” For more information about the California League of Conservation Voters, visit www.ecovote.org.
