St. Mary Medical Center Grants

January 17, 2012 –  Through the Catholic Healthcare West (CHW) Community Grants Program, St. Mary Medical Center awarded $102,748, an increase of $6,000 from the amount given in 2011, to eight non-profit agencies at a luncheon held in their honor at the John Parr Health Enhancement Center on January 10. The grant recipients, who plan to utilize their funding in a variety of outreach efforts based on their services, are: Behavioral Health Services Inc. at the Flossie Lewis Center, Children’s Dental Health Clinic (CDHC), For The Child, Interval House, Jewish Family & Children’s Services (JFCS) at the Alpert Jewish Community Center (AJCC), Meals on Wheels of Long Beach, Westside Neighborhood Clinic and WomenShelter of Long Beach. “Together, as a cohesive team, we can do more for the underserved and marginalized,” Drew Gagner, president of the St. Mary Foundation and overseer of the CHW Community Grants Program, said in a statement. “These grants will provide support for non-profit agencies that are struggling to sustain their programs and services.” For more information, visit www.stmarymedicalcenter.org.
