City Prosectuor IMPACT Awards


January 31, 2012 – The Long Beach City Prosecutor’s Office awarded IMPACT Awards to individuals and groups who made a positive impact in Long Beach this past year. “Each of these recipients have partnered with the City Prosecutor’s Office to make a meaningful difference in our city,” City Prosecutor Doug Haubert said in a statement. “All of these recipients have passion for what they do and are fully deserving of recognition.” The recipients, pictured, from left, are: Commander Joseph Levy, Long Beach Police Department (LBPD) West Division Directed Enforcement Team, for the entire team’s success in combating gang related crime; Bernardo Barajas, LBPD police officer, for his efforts in combating gang related crime; Sean Parilla, LBPD police officer, for his efforts to reduce the number of unsafe and overweight trucks on city streets; Haubert; Che Scott, Long Beach Unified School District counselor, for his effort to reduce truancy at Washington Middle School; and Lenny Arkinstall, executive director of Los Cerritos Wetlands Stewards, Inc., for utilizing the City Prosecutors Community Service Workers program to preserve sensitive wetlands.
