Spring Street Farm Stand Brings Fresh Produce To Long Beach

Spring Street Farm Stand

February 14 – Long Beach locals can experience farm-to-plate produce thanks to the Spring Street Farm Project’s farm stand located at Spring Street and Elm Avenue. After establishing regular hours in September 2011, the stand has provided the community with in-season local produce on a weekly basis. Some of its fruits and vegetables are harvested on-site from the urban farm, whose creation was made possible through the collaboration of the Long Beach Community Action Partnership, The Salvation Army and the Lincoln Spring Farm Co-op. The produce is sustainably grown in adherence to the organic principles of farming, and pasture-raised hens and ducks produce fresh eggs for the stand. The farm stand is open Tuesday and Friday, rain or shine, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. during the winter season.
