April 23, 2013 - Long Beach Business Journal photographer Thomas McConville was behind the lens for the Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach, capturing the excitement and high speeds of race weekend (April 19-21). Follow this photo tour to experience some of the excitement from race weekend.



The top three finishers of the IZOD Indy Car Series race at the
Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach gather at the winner’s circle on
Sunday (April 21) to celebrate their victories. First place winner
Takuma Sato, racing with A.J. Foyt Enterprises, was the first
Japanese driver to win both an Indy Car Series race and to win the
Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach. Graham Rahal of Rahal Letterman
Lanigan Racing took second place and Justin Wilson, racing for Dale
Coyne Racing, took third place. Pictured, from left, are Wilson,

Behind the wheel of the number 15 vehicle in the IZOD Indy Car Series
race at the Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach is 24-year-old Graham Rahal,
who finished in second place. Here, Rahal is leading the corner at Turn 1
with an accident about to happen behind him at the end of the Shoreline
Drive straight away.

Race fans were on their feet in the grandstands near the start of the
IZOD Indy Car Series race at the 2013 Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach.
The Grand Prix Association project approximately 170,000 people attended
racing events last year, and expectations are just as high for the 2013
